Mosquito Theory as expounded in his Gulstonian lectures. He thinks that the theory is rather a splendid instance of the "scientific use of the imagination" than one founded on sufficient fact, and considers that Manson has " relied too much upon two very dangerous and beguiling descriptions of l-easoning, namely, the teleiotic (teleological ?) and the analogical."
